Kris Willcox is a seasoned fundraising professional with over 20 years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit communications. She combines extensive writing and editing experience with in-depth knowledge of nonprofit fundraising (including planned giving), and the practical needs of development shops of all sizes. Her clients include colleges and universities, congregations, grass-roots organizations and national nonprofits. She works with clients to create a wide range of written materials, from compelling case statements and mail appeals, to articles, web copy, and fundraising plans. In addition, she has developed and led workshops and trainings for Board members, staff and donors, to increase their fundraising confidence and skills.
Prior to starting her consulting practice, Kris was Associate Director of Planned Giving at Simmons College and Associate Director of Charitable Gift and Estate Planning at the Unitarian Universalist Association. She has presented at the annual conference of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Massachusetts and served on the board of directors of the Arlington Education Foundation and RESPOND, Inc. Kris holds an M.A. in English from Simmons College and a B.A. in English from the University of Utah.
